Help End the Suicide Epidemic On College Campuses

Did you know that suicide is the second leading cause of death for people aged 10 – 34?  Or that the majority of those who desperately need help, those who are in the darkest of places, are unable to receive it?

Have you ever thought about your own family members or friends, who are likely in need of support but won’t or can’t get it?

The epidemic. The suicides. The avoidable and harrowing suffering so many of our family and friends wrestle with privately has reached a tipping point. Enough is enough. As a community we can, and we must, do more to help those who need it the most. This isn’t about mental health: it’s about standing up for what is right.

Please don’t read this and sit on the sidelines. Take the first step; join me and others throughout our country in the fight to end the epidemic by participating in an “Activity Hour” before August 15th and/or donating to help Ignite, a non-profit that is leading the way and tackling this problem on the front lines.

To help this crisis in under a minute, simply hit the red ‘Donate Now!’ button on the right. You will get donation receipt (donation to a non-profit) that may be useful during tax season!

I also encourage you to participate in an Activity Hour: one hour dedicated to something you love to do. The aim of this hour is to promote your mental health through self-care. By August 15th, Ignite hopes to have reached communities around the country. It is just one hour! You won’t regret it.

Thank you so much,

Cat
